Panini VAR distribution Agreement
Minneapolis, MN — December 2004 — Panini North America, a provider of check processing solutions that develops and manufactures a complete range of products designed for item capture for financial institutions, announced it has signed BLM Technologies, Inc as a Value Added Resellers (VARs) to sell its product suites, which include the My Vision X and S1 Vision series. With a network of more than 45 VARs nationwide, Panini's products have been installed in a variety of financial institutions, vastly improving processes and efficiencies. A VAR is a company that takes an existing product, adds its own "value" usually in the form of a specific application for the product (in the case of Panini, packaged with a software system), and resells it as a new product or "package." For example, a VAR may take a check image scanner with vendor-supplied interface software, such as Panini's My Vision X, and add its own proprietary application designed for financial institutions, reselling the entire hardware and software package. "Not only are VARs an extension of the Panini sales force, but a true partner in the sense they are able to provide us valuable information on our products," said Dave Youngerman, president of Panini North America. "By working with VARs such as BLM, Panini is able to expand our reach into additional markets. Additionally, the VARs are able to provide a full range of customized services to their clientele by offering Panini's state of the art hardware solutions. Our VAR partners are trained to resell Panini's product solutions and provide customers with value added services such as pre-sales consulting, installation, integration and training services making them an integral part of the Panini team." A small check scanner, My Vision X reads the check code line, capture front and back of the check and print customized endorsement information. Standard features of the product include a patent-pending 3-mode feeder, MICR Plus™ recognition technology, programmable one line rear ink jet, a USB 2 interface, a 100 document feeder and the front and rear image capture of up to four images at 200 dpi. Panini's My Vision X covers a wide range of processing applications, allowing financial institutions greater flexibility in determining positioning for the device. It can be used at the teller window, back office operations, merchant locations or in cash vaults, depending on the needs of a particular institution.
